ABOUT HOWIE

Howie Conklin was a hardworking, family man with a heart of gold and we were lucky enough to call him, Dad. He worked tirelessly to provide for our family and often sacrificed his own needs to help others.  Howie made the holidays magical by sending children letters from Santa, planning Easter Egg Hunts and hosting Super Bowl & 4th of July celebrations where all were welcomed.  Howie would go out of his way to make people feel loved and supported. One of the many examples of this was seen each year on Valentine's Day, when he would meet his granddaughter outside of her school with an enormous bouquet of red heart balloons.

If someone was struggling or down on their luck, Howie would be the first to step in and offer his help or support: inviting a homeless veteran to Thanksgiving dinner, searching for a toy in the middle of the night for a child in need at Christmas, rescuing elderly and medically fragile Golden Retrievers so they could live their final years in a safe and loving home.  Our dad led by example and instilled in us, the importance of family, doing what is right and treating everyone with compassion.  We are honored to continue his legacy of love and keep his spirit alive with the creation of Howie's Heart.
